The Justice Garden Project

A garden for wellbeing, integration, and learning.

A vibrant new space is being developed with local young unaccompanied asylum seekers (ages 15-18) throughout the 2024-25 academic year.

The Justice Garden project focuses on co-developing the garden into a place that promotes wellbeing, cross-community integration, and shared learning experiences.

Justice Garden Volunteers

A key aim is to provide these young asylum seekers with meaningful opportunities to:

  • Connect with university staff and students.
  • Explore what the university offers and raise aspirations.
  • Celebrate their languages, cultures, and identities in a supportive environment.

The project is a collaboration with Sioned Edwards from Pont y Tŵr, an expert in creative gardening who specialises in using nature to bring communities together.

We are grateful to our sponsors - P&A Group of Companies, Woodworks Garden Centre and Café, Melcourt, Protek, Green Fingers Denbigh, and Pottles Premier Plants - who have generously donated resources to support the project.
