Biography
Michal obtained LLB in Law with Business Studies and Postgraduate International Business Law LLM at the University of Liverpool. Main focus of the degrees was in commercial, banking and anti-money laundering law. He became a PhD candidate in January 2021.
Research
Michal’s research interest lie in the anti-money laundering framework in the international arena. Specifically looking at offshore structures allowing evasion of regulation relating to identification of beneficial ownership.
Working thesis title
'Offshore shell company structures as means of avoiding anti-money laundering regulation'.

Research Summary
The research is focusing on international anti-money laundering regulation with focus on the beneficial ownership framework and disclosure. In particular corporate structures in low tax and high secrecy financial centres will be examined.
