Biography
Jaydon was appointed a Graduate Teaching Fellow and PhD Researcher at the School of Law and Social Justice in 2022. He teaches Law of the European Union.
Jaydon obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Liverpool and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Law, Liverpool. Prior to beginning his PhD, Jaydon worked as a Research Assistant on various projects, including ‘The Lancet-Chatham House Commission on Improving Population Health Post- COVID-19’ and Alcohol & Human Rights projects.
Research
Jaydon’s research interests lie principally in the field of EU public health law, non-communicable disease prevention, and EU trade law. His research focuses on the extent to which the EU can contribute to regulation of alcohol brand marketing, including the marketing of no- and low- alcohol products, to promote better health. Additionally, his research looks at the regulation of alcohol brand marketing at national level, specifically addressing barriers to trade and Member States’ compliance with EU treaty provisions. Jaydon is also interested in legal epidemiology, the reduction of European health inequalities, and unfair and aggressive commercial practices.
Jaydon is a member of the Law and Non-Communicable Diseases Unit and actively supported the Unit’s conferences. He is also a member of the EU Law at Liverpool research cluster.
