The University of Liverpool Law School is delighted to welcome its new LLM cohort for the 2024-25 academic year. With students from 24 different countries across five continents, this year marks a significant milestone in the growth of our postgraduate programmes and student numbers, reaffirming our commitment to fostering a globally diverse academic community.

This year, we are proud to have expanded our suite of LLM programmes, providing students with more opportunities to specialise in areas of their passion and interest. In addition to our Law (General) LLM, International Human Rights Law LLM, and Law, Medicine and Healthcare LLM, this year marks the inaugural launch of our International Business and Commercial Law LLM. This new programme is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the global economy and the interconnected legal subjects that underpin international business and to equip students with the skills required to succeed in global commerce.

Dr Ben Murphy, Director of Postgraduate Taught Programmes in Law commented: “I wish to extend a warm welcome to all our incoming LLM students. I very much look forward to teaching you this year. I hope you make the most of your experience at the School of Law and Social Justice and take advantage of all the fantastic extracurricular and employability opportunities on offer. More generally, I hope you enjoy living and studying in one the best cities in the world!"

The rise in LLM student numbers highlights the increasing global recognition of the School’s programmes and the world-class academic and research opportunities provide.

Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas, Dean of the School of Law and Social Justice said: “I am incredibly proud to welcome our diverse and talented LLM cohort for the 2024-25 academic year. Our postgraduate programmes continue to grow in strength and reach, and this year's expansion reflects our commitment to providing cutting-edge legal education that prepares students to excel in a globalised world. I look forward to seeing our students thrive and contribute to the vibrant community here at Liverpool."
