Liverpool Law School student features on Channel 4’s The Piano

Third-year LLB student Brooke Shotton, from the University of Liverpool Law School, showcased her talent for playing the piano by appearing on Channel 4’s talent show, The Piano.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, each week, talented amateur pianists are invited to play on public pianos at various train stations across the UK, sharing their stories and music with the great British public. The pianists are watched by classical pianist Lang Lang and pop star Mika as they compete for the chance to perform at the Royal Festival Hall.

During the episode, Brooke shared her love of playing Piano and how music helps her through her time studying Law at the University.

Commenting on the unique experience Brooke said: “As a university student, there may be times when you feel overwhelmed and stressed with exams and assignments. However, having a passion and love for playing piano, allows me to switch off and relax from my studies. Playing music is an amazing way to express yourself and have another skill you are passionate about.”

“It has been a privilege to be a part of such an inspiring show. It has been a surreal experience and I have met amazing people along the way.” 

Alongside her legal studies, teaches piano and music theory, having established a piano school in 2022 for children in Southport.
