Flagstaff is a small city located in the foothills of the San Francisco Peaks, the highest mountain range in Arizona. The city plays host to a wealth of festivals throughout the year, showcasing everything from music to film, as well as Arizona's strong Native American heritage. Due to its mountainous location, Flagstaff is also the perfect place to try your hand at a bit of skiing whilst enjoying your exchange! The city was rated number 3 in the Business Insider rankings 2018 of Best College Towns.

Founded in 1899, Northern Arizona University, has over 30,000 students enrolled across its educational offerings, with nearly 25,000 of these students based at the Flagstaff campus. It teaches over 150 degree programmes. It aspires to be the leading university for Native American enrolment and offers a number of modules in Native American studies. It is also a truly sporting university, with 15 teams in the NCAA Division I.
