Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, is a vibrant, multicultural city that has been voted by the Economist as one of the most liveable cities in the world. The city has a variable climate and has been described as having four seasons in one day. However, the city can still be enjoyed all year round! The Monash University was founded in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the state of Victoria. Monash is a member of the Group of Eight which consist of the leading universities for research in Australia. The university is ranked 57th in the world and has over 80,000 students and just fewer than 17,000 staff. The university also has an ambitious goal of becoming completely renewable within the next 15 years via its net zero initiative.
