Chair of Common Law
The second law chair to be founded in the Faculty of Law after the establishment of the University of Liverpool was the Chair in Commercial Law (1903-1946) thereafter Chair of Common Law. This reflected the delivery of law teaching at the time and the commercial environment in Liverpool.
