Wednesday March 8th 2023 is International Women's Day. It is a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, and focus attention on women's rights and gender inequality.

The theme for International Women's Day 2023 is #EmbraceEquity. The aim of the #EmbraceEquity campaign is to get the world talking about 'Why equal opportunities aren't enough'. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.

2nd Year Law student Nasara Hauwa Nasamu asks the Guild President Vasiliki Samuels, Law Lecturer Dr Emily Ireland, and some of her fellow students, why they think embracing equity is important in reaching equality.
