Lower Intermediate Irish

Monday 23 September, 6 - 7.30pm

This module is mapped against levels A2 and B1 in Irish according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the European Certification of proficiency in the Irish Language (TEG), completing the TEG A2 syllabus and beginning the syllabus for B1 level. It is for students who have complete Stage 2 Beyond Beginners Irish, or who have an A2 (lower intermediate) standard of the language in the CEFR. Through a variety of methods students will keep developing an intermediate competence in reading, writing, listening and speaking Irish and an understanding of the Irish grammar. At the end of this 30-week module students will be able to connect phrases in a simple way in order to describe experiences, events, dreams, and expectations and give their own opinion. They will be able to deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. They will have a good understanding of life and culture in Ireland and intercultural skills necessary for their language proficiency level.
