This virtual course, delivered in Spanish, is targeted at the caretakers of community archives of human rights in Colombia. This can include NGOs or informal community-based groups who are acting as custodians  of documents, objects, or other items that conserve or communicate the testimonies and identities of victims of the armed conflict in Colombia, as well as the acts of non-violent resistance to such abuses. The course has been designed following research into conditions at four Colombian community archives, and in close consultation with archival experts. The sessions are delivered in several linked parts, so that training can adapt to funding, timetabling, staffing and political conditions.  Parts 1-3 address the most urgent and fundamental training needs in areas such as everyday handling of documents, cleaning and maintenance of document housing, and the principles and procedures of basic cataloguing. The purpose behind this training is to enable such invaluable documents to be made available to a wider public as part of Colombia’s processes for peace and transitional justice, which includes a clarification of truths, and acknowledgement of victim testimonies.

Este curso virtual, impartido en español, se dirige a los cuidadores de archivos comunitarios de derechos humanos en Colombia, ej. ONG o grupos informales quienes custodian documentos, objetos, u otro tipo de archivos que conservan las identidades y los testimonios de las víctimas del conflicto armado, y también de la resistencia no-violenta a estos abusos.  El curso se enfoca en las necesidades más básicas y urgentes de los archivistas, e incluye temas como el manejo a diario de los documentos, la limpieza y mantenimiento de los soportes, los métodos y principios a seguir para catalogar los archivos, y cómo hacer sus acervos más accesibles a los públicos, para socializar su uso en los procesos de paz, esclarecimiento de verdades, y justicia transicional.
