Combining Large Language Models (LLMs) and Audiovisual Translation
Biography
I hold MSc in Translation and Technology from University College London (UCL) and an MA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Westminster. My research focuses on the intersection of large language models (LLMs) and translation, exploring how advanced technologies can enhance translation processes and improve cross-cultural communication.
In addition to my academic background, I have experience as a freelance subtitler with Zoo Digital, where I have worked on diverse projects that require precision and an understanding of cultural context. I was honored to receive the second-class prize at the PhD forum held by Fudan University 2024, which recognizes my commitment to research excellence. I am passionate about leveraging technology to innovate in the field of translation and am eager to contribute to projects that promote effective communication across languages. I welcome opportunities for collaboration on research related to LLMs and translation.
Research interests
My research interests lie in exploring how large language models (LLMs) can be leveraged to enhance translation across different genres, with a particular focus on subtitles. I am particularly interested in investigating the application of LLMs to evaluate translation quality, aiming to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of translation processes. I welcome opportunities for collaboration on research related to LLMs and their impact on the field of translation.
