The University of Liverpool will host the 26th AULC Annual Conference. We invite teachers, researchers, managers, and practitioners in the field of language teaching to submit papers for our upcoming conference focusing on Multilingualism, Multiliteracies, Digital Technologies, and Accessibility in Language Teaching, specifically within the contexts of Second Language (L2), Foreign Language (FL), and Heritage Language (HL) teaching.
We welcome examples of good practice and research that examines how digital technologies are transforming language learning environments, how multiliteracy approaches support diverse learners, and how accessibility issues are addressed in language pedagogy. We encourage a broad range of perspectives, from theoretical frameworks to practical implementations, focusing on the following topics, but are not limited to:
- The integration of multiliteracies (e.g., digital, visual, media, and multimodal literacies) in L2, FL, and HL instruction.
- Innovative uses of digital tools and platforms to enhance language acquisition and engagement.
- Addressing accessibility challenges in language teaching for diverse learners, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- The role of social media, apps, and online resources in fostering language learning and cultural awareness.
- Pedagogical strategies for inclusive language teaching through digital technologies.
- The impact of virtual exchange programs and online language immersion on learner outcomes.
- The intersection of language policy, technology, and multilingualism in education.
- The role of culturally responsive pedagogy and language revitalization in heritage language contexts.
We invite proposals for:
- Individual Presentations: 15-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for discussion)
- Panel Discussions: 90-minute panels consisting of 4-5 presenters
- Workshops: 60-minute interactive sessions focusing on practical applications or teaching demonstrations
- Presentations can be delivered in English or in the target language
Please submit an abstract in English (300 words) describing your proposed presentation, panel, or workshop, including the following information:
- Title of your paper or workshop
- A brief description of the content and objectives
- A statement on how your work connects to the conference themes
- The language of delivery
