If you need to move a printer, read this first

It may not be often that you print something, but when you do, the University has many Ricoh Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) which are able to print on A3 and A4, black and white, and colour printing. If you are altering the layout of your office or need to make changes to make MFDs more accessible to you and your colleagues, you may consider moving one of the University’s MFDs.

Please note that it is vital that MFDs are not moved without first contacting procurement@liverpool.ac.uk.

This procedure is essential to ensure that:

  • MFDs are not damaged through improper movement; please note the costs of any repairs are charged to the department responsible for the printer
  • MFDs continue to print from your print queue; the devices are locked to specific network points and moving them without following correct procedure will lead to errors
  • The MFD remains connected to the University network, without which important measurements and diagnostics cannot be conducted
  • The warranty provided by the supplier remains valid as it may become void if an MFD is moved without approval
  • The asset register is properly maintained

If you no longer require an MFD, this can be repurposed or returned to the supplier. Therefore, please ensure you notify procurement@liverpool.ac.uk to request the removal or movement of any MFDs.

Thank you for helping maintain the integrity of our MFDs and ensuring any which are no longer needed can be managed appropriately.

Please contact procurement@liverpool.ac.uk if you have any questions or need any further support.
