9 IT Top Tools to help get you started

Congratulations on joining #TeamLivUni!

There’s so much to do and to learn as a new student, and IT Services are here to help you do it! We provide a range of support to enhance your experience studying with us; the list below will help get you started and learn more about the services available to you.

  1. Activate your account - this will give you your University email address, you'll need your Student ID Number and a memorable, secure password!
  2. Connect to our Wi-Fi - Use eduroam on campus for free internet connectivity.

  3. Download the My Liverpool App - this provides everything you need to live and learn on campus from your library card to handy contacts and FAQs. Available on the App or Play Store.

  4. Enrol for 2FA - two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an additional layer of security you will need to access University systems.

  5. Check out our Student Intranet - stay up to date on the latest news and announcements and gain access to essential systems such as Canvas.

  6. Download free software - get the latest version of Microsoft Office and other free software so you can feel ready to study with us. Remember to protect your computer by installing antivirus protection software available for your personal PC or laptop.

  7. Do you need accessibility support? We provide a range of accessibility hardware and software to support our students through their studies.

  8. Use our PC Finder to locate an available machine on campus, you can filter your search based on installed software, you can also find adjacent PCs so you can work next to a friend!
