Visitors to the University can now connect to public Wi-Fi for free through the ‘WiFi Guest’ service. Powered by The Cloud, the service is available in many places across campus and WiFi Guest hotspots can be viewed on this map: https://wifi.liverpool.ac.uk/media/wirelesslivacuk/public-wifi-map,.pdf
To use this service visitors need to select ‘WiFi Guest’ from the available networks on their device and follow the simple instructions.
Wi-Fi improvements across the University
This is part of a programme of improvements to the Wi-Fi service that includes a new partnership with the Royal Liverpool Hospitals Trust (RLBUHT) which will deliver Eduroam Wi-Fi to parts of the trusts estate and new Wi-Fi coverage at Carnatic Student Village. This extended coverage coupled with enhanced network resilience and data speed across the University has contributed to a record 46,000 unique devices connecting to the network in an average week.
