Events in the Institute of Irish Studies

We host high-profile events throughout the year, past guests have included: then Irish President Michael D. Higgins, award-winning writer Colm Tóibín and Snow Patrol guitarist and songwriter Johnny McDaid.

We have long-standing partnerships with local, national and international organisations such as the Liverpool Irish Festival, the Liverpool Literary Festival for our John McGahern Book Prize, the Estate of Seamus Heaney for our Annual Seamus Heaney Lectures and Unreal Cities for our biennial Beckett Festival.
