Meet and greet

We are expecting to welcome over 3,500 new international students in September 2024. To help manage arrivals, we are operating a dedicated meet and greet coach service at Manchester Airport.

The service will run for four days in advance of Welcome Week, from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 September. University staff will be present at the airport to signpost students to get them to their accommodation in Liverpool safely.

Alternative transport options not included in the meet and greet service are private taxi and train.

I am a new international student, arriving at Manchester Airport between 12 and 15 September 2024

You are eligible to book a place on a dedicated University of Liverpool coach service (subject to availability).

This service, operated by National Express, will drop students at University of Liverpool accommodation. Those staying at private accommodation will be picked up from Liverpool Lime Street Station (Liverpool City Centre) or Brownlow Hill (University campus).

Eligible students will receive a booking link for this service. The cost will be £20, payable to the University of Liverpool during the booking process. The journey will take around one hour.

I am arriving at Manchester Airport outside of the dates of the meet and greet service

The suggested options for your journey from Manchester Airport are either by private taxi or train. Taxis are the more expensive option. The train is cheaper, but the journey is likely to take longer. You can learn more about travelling from Manchester Airport on their website

I am arriving at a different airport

We do not offer a meet and greet service from any other airport, but you can find some information here on how to make your own way.
