Studied a Pre-sessional English course at another university?
While we offer our own Pre-sessional English courses, we know you might have already studied Pre-sessional English elsewhere.
If you’ve studied a Pre-sessional English course elsewhere, we may be able to accept this on a case-by-case basis.
You’ll need to have completed either:
- A Pre-sessional English course at a Russell Group University
- A BALEAP-accredited Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes programme.
If you studied either of these options, the course will need to have:
- Clear IELTS equivalencies and testing in all four elements
- Been undertaken at a University and not with an affiliated private provider, except for BALEAP Thailand. We may accept a BALEAP-accredited Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes programme where undertaken at a UK university’s private provider in Thailand
- Been undertaken in person and not studied online
- Been completed within two years of the start date of your intended academic course with us.
If we can’t accept the Pre-sessional English course you’ve studied elsewhere, you’ll need to demonstrate you meet our English language requirements by completing an international English language test or joining one of our own Pre-sessional English courses.
The Pre-sessional English course length you require will be determined by your current English language ability and the English language requirements for your intended undergraduate degree or master’s course.
