Social programme
Liverpool is a unique city with a fascinating culture. We sit in a beautiful part of the world, with access to everything from castles to coasts, mountains, monuments and everything in between. Our social programme is carefully curated to give you a deep insight into UK and Liverpool culture, and see some stunning sights along the way.
Upon arrival in Liverpool, all students are invited to a catered welcome event to meet your new classmates, alongside an evening meal and city tour, with a free drink at a local café/bar included. Your graduation event and lunch are also included in your International Summer School fee.
You can also expect such activities during your time with us as:
- Film and pizza nights
- Team sporting activities
- Paddle boarding in the famous Albert Dock
- A tour of Anfield football stadium (home of Liverpool FC)
- A trip to the Beatles Story visitor attraction
- A visit to the University's Ness Botanic Gardens
- Beach trips and nature walks
- Picnics and games in our own Abercromby Square.
During each three week period, we also offer one full day trip slightly further afield via coach on a Saturday. Examples include:
- A trip to North Wales, with a visit to Penrhyn Castle, travel through Ogwen Valley, and a visit to the traditional Welsh village of Betws-y-Coed
- A trip to the Lake District and Wordsworth's Grasmere, with lunch at Grasmere Village and sightseeing at various stunning locations, a visit to Rydal Hall Gardens, with Wordsworth's house next door, and boat trips or paddling in the lake.
During your stay with us, we will have Student Assistants on hand to lead or make suggestions for trips, as well as look after your day-to-day wellbeing, so you won't be short of things to do or people to help you out. International Summer School students will also have access to the social activities organised by the Halls Experience Team, designed for everyone living in University accommodation.
Of course, you are not limited to the activities organised by us. There is so much to see and do in Liverpool, you won't be bored during your time with us. Head to our Life at Liverpool page for help on exploring the city, or see what our students have discovered.
