Invitation to Participate in Archives Project
Posted on: 31 March 2016 by Aine Mangaoang in Posts
The Institute of Popular Music (IPM) at the University of Liverpool is leading a project called “Music, Photographs and Stories from the Archives,” in collaboration with the Open Eye Gallery. Working with staff from the IPM Archive and the Open Eye Archive, we invite any interested members of the public to participate in this project.
To participate, you will visit both archives and select materials, some photographic and some audio, that resonate with your life and experiences. These collected stories will guide individuals in co-curating an audio-visual self-portrait, based on materials from the respective archives. These portraits and stories will form part of a public event at Open Eye Gallery on June 18 2016, and part of a short documentary film thereafter.
The first archive visit takes place Monday April 4 at 10.30am and will run for approx. 90 minutes.
