About
Matthew graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Nottingham in 2013. After working in clinical practice in the UK and Australia, he joined the Leahurst Farm Animal Practice in 2017 to complete a residency in Livestock Health and Welfare and a PhD on genetic and metabolic aspects of non-infectious lameness in dairy cattle. After working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nottingham, he returned to the University of Liverpool as a Lecturer in the Department of Livestock and One Health where he divides his time between teaching final-year veterinary students during their clinical rotations and research relating to the health, welfare, and productivity of ruminants. Matthew is an RCVS Specialist in Cattle Health and Production and an EBVS European Specialist in Bovine Health Management.
