Elaine joined the School of Veterinary Sciences in October 2023 and works across the School with colleagues to improve the business performance of the clinical services.

Elaine has a background in NHS management incorporating an early career in clinical audit & governance, and moved into operational service management firstly within cancer services and subsequently in large tertiary services, having worked at St Mary's, Imperial College and Kings College Hospital in London. Further to her hospital roles she became the Head of Delivery and Development for North West London Region for the NHS Regulator, NHS Improvement. Elaine has a Post-Graduate Diploma in NHS Management, undertook the NHS Leadership Programme with the Kings Fund and the Aspiring Senior Leaders Programme at Cranfield School of Management.

Following a career break, Elaine worked for a Multi Academy Trust, and undertook a number of voluntary roles in local schools and charities before taking up the role of Business Manager at the Vet School. She is currently the Chair of Trustees for Merseyside Society for Deaf People.
