On 27 October 2018 Dr Chris Pearson from the Department of History hosted an eye-wateringly fun event exploring the history of urban dog poo to educate and entertain both young and old alike.
His Plop Up Dog Poo Family Fun Day used fun and interactive games, pooetry readings, a dog poo poster competition and exhibits to get visitors thinking about the messy world of dog poo and how we can make Liverpool’s streets cleaner.
As well as exploring how 3,000 tons of dog poo deposited daily onto Britain’s streets can have serious health and environmental effects, the National Poo Museum brought along a range of ‘deposits’ and displays to get everyone thinking and talking about poo even more than they did already.
