Faculty PGR Well-being Ambassadors

PGRs can contact any of the Ambassadors in confidence for advice, guidance or simply a chat and a listening ear. The ambassadors are not counsellors, but they have training in giving advice and guidance to fellow PGRS, and can signpost you to relevant support teams as needed.

The ambassadors will be hosting virtual and in-person wellbeing events throughout the year. Suggestions welcome, so please contact us if you have any ideas for well-being events!

Kindah

I am a PhD student, my research is about the use of children's images during wartime, specifically focusing on the Syrian conflict. I advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and am dedicated to promoting these values. Apart from my academic pursuits, I enjoy immersing myself in different cultures, cooking, and organizing events. I find joy in learning and exchanging experiences with others.

Megan

My research explores the production of sociotechnical imaginaries in Cold War bunkers. When aboveground, I am usually discussing books with friends, drinking coffee, swimming, reading poetry, or practicing yoga.

Naeema

In my PhD, I explore the experiences of Indian women navigating colourism and skin lightening. Outside of research, I’m passionate about shopping, fashion styling, and traveling, always looking for new inspirations and adventures.

Synthia

I am an eighteenth-century historian, particularly focusing on women in Britain in diplomatic and socio-political spheres, in the role of the Ambassadress. In my free-time, I enjoy embroidering, gardening, and a nice cup of tea!

Victoria

My research focuses on the interaction between the socio-economic effects of organized crime and the policies to counter it within the Italian context. Apart from my academic activities, I am passionate about reading, painting, discussing politics, and mindful running.
