SOCI 503 Understanding Society and using Quantitative Methods

This module looks at the rationale and practice of analysing numerical data, largely derived from survey research, and the use of such data to understand the social world. It covers a range of skills, from basic, univariate, and multivariate analysis techniques to a consideration of the potential insights offered by longitudinal datasets and their analysis.

Anyone intending to audit this module will be required to either join from week 1 and stay the course of the module, or contact the module coordinator to see if more partial attendance is possible. Alternatively, access can be granted to the module’s Canvas site for PGRs to work their way through training materials in their own time.
