ENVS 450 Social Survey Analysis

An introduction to analysis of social survey data, covering descriptive and inferential statistics, data visualisation, regression modelling and model diagnostics. The module is taught using 'R' - a statistical programming language - to which the module will also provide an introduction. The mid-term assignment assesses understanding of, and ability to apply, descriptive and inferential statistics to a real-world dataset, via a series of ‘short answer’ questions. The end-of-term assignment assesses understanding of, and the ability to apply, correlation and regression techniques to a real-world dataset in the form of a report/academic paper template.
