Graduate Research Internship Scheme

The Graduate Research Internship Scheme (GRIS) provides HSS graduates with the opportunity to undertake paid research support work over the summer months to assist with existing research projects or to develop new research initiatives.

Last year, the scheme was introduced following demand to broaden the URS scheme to provide similar opportunities for our graduating students. It enables new graduates to gain insight into the research process by engaging with researchers and to gain valuable first-hand experience to help prepare them for further independent study and employment.

This is also an opportunity for researchers within the Faculty to recruit high-quality graduates as research interns to support work on ongoing research projects and/or to help scope and develop new research initiatives.

The Graduate Research Internship Scheme gave me a great opportunity to experience life as part of a research project I would have otherwise been unlikely to have been afforded. The time working on the project helped me develop skills and build networks that will be extrmely helpful in my career progression.
