We have had over 100 years to compile our archives and our Special Collections and Archives contains rare collections, newspapers and artefacts.

Accessible on your computer, tablet or phone our 'Using Primary Sources' e-textbook makes rare archival materials from the Special Collections and Archives instantly available, as well as essays by expert authors.

Museums and galleries

With more galleries and museums than any city outside London, Liverpool is a historian's paradise. 

As well as our own Victoria Gallery and Museum, you can take advantage of our strong links with the Museum of Liverpool, International Slavery Museum and Walker Art Gallery.
