Dr Deana Heath has been awarded an £11,000 research group grant from the Independent Social Research Foundation to hold a week-long workshop at Cambridge in August 2017 on ‘The 'Civilising' Violence of Colonialism: Indian Experiences and Legacies’.

The workshop will bring together an international group of scholars who work on colonial violence to enable them to develop research and grant initiatives.

Dr Heath is currently on a year-long ISRF grant for a related book project on ‘Colonial Terror: Torture and the Unmaking of the World.’ For further details visit the ISRF website
