Research and Impact Directorate
The goal of the Research and Impact Directorate is to improve the Faculty's research performance in order to realise a greater societal impact. We support strategic and multidisciplinary research as well as improving our research environment for researchers at all career stages.
Research, strategy, planning and performance
We work with institutes to develop the Faculty's research strategy and align this institutionally for the greatest impact.
Working across the Faculty and the wider institution we support the development of the best research environment to facilitate the realisation of our research aspirations and track our performance. These activities culminate in the Faculty's REF submission, which the Directorate is responsible for coordinating, including the coordination and preparation of impact cases.
The Directorate also manages strategic awards to the Faculty and oversees the research governance framework. The team work collaboratively with colleagues across Research, Partnerships and Innovation.
Public engagement
Our public engagement team provide support and training for public engagement activities, both at a Faculty and Institute level, coordinating cross-Faculty activities. Find out more about our public engagement.
