Carmel Booth (President)
Carmel is a Partner at Calderstones Consulting specialising in providing strategic, financial and commercial advice to a wide range of corporate and public sector clients. With a focus on large scale infrastructure, transport and regeneration projects, Carmel has advised on several high profile developments including the 2012 London Olympic Games, High Speed Rail, transport strategy for the North of England, numerous events and sports venues throughout the UK, the Northern Powerhouse and wider devolution agenda.
Carmel qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and was a partner at Amion Consulting and at KPMG, where she gained a breadth of experience in due diligence, corporate finance and consulting. She has advised on major national and international transactions including post-merger integration and transformational change advice. She regularly provides advice to Government on infrastructure, investment strategy and the growth agenda.
Carmel is a Liverpool alumnus, graduating with a first class honours in Geography in 1995. She lives in Liverpool and is proud to have played a supporting role in some of the City Region’s major developments including the new Port of Liverpool, the Echo Arena, the development of the waterfront including the new Museum of Liverpool, Sci-Tech Daresbury and the Mersey Gateway Bridge. Carmel is also a Board member of National Museums Liverpool, Atlantic Gateway and Superport.
