Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is an international university formed in partnership between the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in China.

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is our flagship transnational partnership founded in 2006 in collaboration with our long-standing partner, Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. XJTLU is a real success story and is now an established, modern and innovative university based in China.

This treasured partnership offers students from both the UK and China multiple options for studying abroad. Students in China can opt for the 2+2 programme, spending 2 years at each institution to gain an international advantage. And students from Liverpool can choose to spend a year in China to gain new experiences and enhance their studies.

Students on some undergraduate programmes at XJTLU Entrepreneur College now also have the opportunity to study in Liverpool for 1 year. The Taicang 2+1+1 programme is designed to enhance students' academic and entrepreneurial skills.

Each year, PhD students are also co-supervised between the 2 universities in an arrangement which offers a unique contribution to research and innovation.
