Professor Tariq Ali PhD DIC CPhys FInstP FRAS
Pro-Vice Chancellor Global Engagement and Partnerships
Tariq joined the University in September 2023. He brings a wealth of experience to his position, overseeing the development and implementation of the University’s Global Vision and Strategy, providing strategic leadership on international partnerships, and promoting educational and research excellence.
Professor Robert Blackwood
APVC for Global Engagement and Partnerships for Humanities and Social Sciences
Robert is an expert in French sociolinguistics. He oversees doctoral research in linguistic landscape and language policy, bringing expertise from his PhD supervision work from the Middle East to his role as Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Humanities and Social Sciences.

Professor Peter McCormick
APVC for Global Engagement and Partnerships for Health and Life Sciences
With a background spanning biochemistry, biophysics, and drug discovery, Peter brings extensive experience to global partnerships. From pioneering membrane protein research in the USA to leading drug discovery programs in the UK, and conducting groundbreaking research in Spain, his career reflects a commitment to collaborative innovation and global involvement.

Professor Ronan McGrath
APVC for Global Engagement and Partnerships for Science and Engineering
Ronan has conducted significant research in nanoscale physics, in particular studies of quasicrystal and other complex metallic alloy surfaces. He has acquired several research grants and is part of research groups in the field. His research places him in a favourable position to utilise his expertise and networks for enhancing international collaborations and driving impactful research initiatives.
