What is summer research?
Our Summer Research Programme is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working with sector-leading academics on real research projects.
What can I study?
You’ll spend between four and 12 weeks assisting one of our experienced researchers with their ground-breaking work. Take a look at the projects included in our Summer Research Programme in 2024.
Who can join the Summer Research Programme?
The programme is open to international students who meet our study abroad entry requirements. We cannot accept students who are currently studying in the UK.
How much does the Summer Research Programme cost?
Students from some partner universities may be eligible to join the programme as an exchange student with a tuition-free place. Contact your home university’s study abroad team to find out if this option is available to you. You can find out more about tuition fees for our Summer Research Programme on our fees and term dates page.
What will I get from the Summer Research Programme?
All summer research projects are worth 15 University of Liverpool credits. You’ll receive a transcript at the end of the programme with your grade and credits for the research module. This may be eligible for credit transfer to your home university.
While completing the programme, you’ll have full access to our state-of-the-art facilities. This includes Sport Liverpool, our libraries, and the Liverpool Guild of Students. You’ll also have the option of staying in our award-winning accommodation.
Throughout your time in Liverpool, you’ll benefit from the expert support of your academic supervisor and our Global Opportunities team.
