Visiting and exchange students
The University Halls of Residence are a safe and fun way to spend your time in Liverpool. If you live in our on-campus accommodation you'll be based with other international students, as well as current University of Liverpool home students, who have just, or are about to, study abroad. This creates a safe, welcoming and internationally-focussed community of students.
Our visiting and exchange semester only students are usually placed in Melville Grove, Tudor Close and Vine Court. They are a short walk to the centre of campus where you'll have classes, as well as the Guild of Students, sports centre, libraries and other food and drink and social facilities. A programme of halls-based activities, a laundrette and 24-hour reception and security teams on site ensure that you can relax, feel at home, and enjoy your experience with us.
Students staying with us for a full academic year can select any of our on-campus accommodation options.
We can only guarantee on-campus accommodation places to students who will be with us for a full year, semester two the summer. All semester one only rooms will allocated randomly by a lottery system. If for any reason you don't get a place in campus accommodation, we will help you to find other University approved accommodation options that are still close to campus.
For initial enquiries about living on campus, please contact the Global Opportunities team. If you have a more specific query regarding University of Liverpool on-campus accommodation, please email our Accommodation Office directly at accommodation@liverpool.ac.uk.
Current University of Liverpool students
All offers for our global opportunities are made in March. This is often a concern for current students who are keen to make accommodation arrangements for their next year of study, before offers from abroad are issued. We want to ensure that you have as many accommodation options as possible to suit your needs, therefore, you have the option to apply for a room in University Halls of Residence (Dover Court) as a backup, in case your application to go abroad doesn't work out. Please note that rooms in Dover Court are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so you're encouraged to apply as early as possible.
If your application to go abroad is successful, you can either withdraw from your Dover Court accommodation contract, without incurring any financial penalties, or the Global Opportunities team can arrange for your contract to be automatically transferred over to the Study Abroad Village. If you're happy for your contract to be transferred to the Study Abroad Village (subject to availability), all you'll need to do is accept the offer.
You can apply for all University of Liverpool accommodation options online through your Liverpool Life account.
