How we support our students
The health and well-being of our students is a top priority at all times, so we have a wealth of resources to support you during your time abroad.
International SOS
You have access to International SOS whilst abroad, which gives you 24/7 access to worldwide health, security, travel and emergency assistance in your daily life, as well as in emergency situations. You can access these services digitally or call the International SOS Assistance Centres. Their teams of multilingual doctors, nurses, security and logistics experts are on hand and ready to help if you need them.
We recommend that all students going on a study abroad experience download the free International SOS Assistance App. The guidance and support available on the app can help you make more informed decisions based on accurate, up-to-date health and security data and country risk guides.
You can also enable medical and security alerts relevant to the country you're travelling to. Your family and friends are welcome to get in touch with International SOS as well, should they have any concerns for your welfare during your time abroad.
For more information, you can also view the 'International SOS at a glance' video.
Your host university
Your host university should be your first point of contact to help with any queries you may have during your study abroad experience, from accommodation to module registration.

Mental health support
While you're abroad, you'll have access to the support services available at your host university, as well as the support you're already familiar with at Liverpool. For more information about student support at the University of Liverpool, visit our Student Services webpages.
There is also free, 24/7 professional mental health support available with International SOS. Through the International SOS Assistance Centres, you have access to Workplace Options (WPO) and its network of over 11,000 affiliate professional mental health counsellors. Their support is available online, over the phone, or face to face depending on your preferences.
