Joseph Rotblat Alumni Scholarship

The Sir Joseph Rotblat Alumni Scholarship

Named in honour of Nobel Peace Prize laureate and alumnus Sir Joseph Rotblat (PhD Physics 1950, Hon DSci 1989) the scholarship rewards students with exceptional academic performance who can demonstrate that they would not be able to go on to pursue postgraduate research without additional help. It specifically supports alumni of the University, nurturing their academic talent and helping them take the first step towards careers in research.

The scholarship is open to all Liverpool graduates who have achieved either a first-class degree or a distinction in a postgraduate taught degree at the University, and can demonstrate that they would be unable to pursue further study, without the additional support of a scholarship.

‌Receiving the Sir Joseph Rotblat Alumni Scholarship has enabled me to concentrate on my studies, as it has taken the pressure off financially. It has also meant that I can complete my PhD in four years rather than seven.
