Leahurst Vet School Christmas Choir

Each year the University of Liverpool Veterinary Alumni Association (ULVAA) receives monetary donations from alumni and friends that helps to support the association's activities. We invite students to apply via ULVAA for funding to support academic and non-academic activities that promote well-being.

This academic year, one of the vet student-led activities that the ULVAA has provided funding to is the Leahurst Christmas Choir. This year’s conductor, veterinary student, Lydia Bradley kindly wrote to the ULVAA to express her gratitude on behalf of the choir:

“As is Vet School tradition, the Leahurst Vet School Christmas Choir held our annual Carol Service at Christ Church in Willaston in December. This year the choir was made up of 25 clinical year students and Leahurst members of staff. We put together 10 Christmas carols in four-part harmony and sang them at the Carol Service.

I would like to thank the ULVAA for kindly providing us with funding this year – this allowed us to purchase new music and folders, and to provide refreshments to raise money for charity. We raised over £250 by selling mince pies and mulled wine after the service, and the ULVAA’s kind support allowed us to donate all this money to this year’s LUVS charities: The Clare Harrison Memorial Fund, Care for the Paw, The Cinnamon Trust and The Canmore Trust.

The Carol Service was a great success – the Church was packed with students, staff and other members of our community, and we had such a good time rehearsing and performing the carols.
Thank you so much again for supporting us this year - it was such a privilege to be able to lead the choir this year, perhaps one of the highlights of my time at vet school. The carol service wouldn't have been such a success without this funding.”

Thank you to our alumni and friends who support veterinary student activities via donations to the ULVAA and the Vet Student Fund.
