Thanks to the support of our donors the University of Liverpool is pleased to offer tuition fee and maintenance support for undergraduate students who have sought protection in the UK, so they can succeed in higher education. The scholarships, supported by the Student Fund, cover the cost of tuition and provide support towards the costs of study.
Hear from a recipient of the Humanitarian Scholarship:
"First of all, I am grateful to the University of Liverpool for providing such an opportunity for people with refugee backgrounds. I am pleased to say that this scholarship has changed my life tremendously. Being from a country like Afghanistan, where it is hard to get a quality education with most of the educational centres recently closed, I can only imagine how lucky and grateful I am to the University of Liverpool. The humanitarian scholarship has been a transformative force in my life, providing me with opportunities that would have otherwise been out of reach.
As a recipient of this scholarship, I have been able to pursue my passion for making a positive impact in the world and, through my knowledge, contribute to the betterment of society. The financial support has relieved the burden of tuition fees and allowed me to fully immerse myself in my studies without the constant worry of financial constraints.
Moreover, the scholarship has not only opened doors for my education but has also provided networking opportunities and the opportunity to meet people from different cultures. Since a very young age, my dream has been to continue my education in the field of engineering. This scholarship has helped me make my dream come true.
To me, being from a third-world country, the ability to study in the field of telecommunication engineering with the support of this scholarship is a true privilege. It represents an incredible opportunity for personal and professional growth, allowing me to make a tangible impact in the lives of others.
The field of telecommunication engineering plays a crucial role in connecting people, communities, and regions, especially in humanitarian contexts where reliable communication networks are essential for disaster response, healthcare access, and social development.
Being able to pursue this degree means that I can actively contribute my expertise to address critical challenges and bridge the digital divide in underserved areas. This scholarship not only signifies financial assistance but also a recognition of my potential and a validation of my aspirations. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and remain committed to utilising my education and skills to serve humanity through the field of telecommunication engineering."
