Undergraduate Scholar, Lauren Kaye (Medicine 2021)

This summer we celebrated our talented Class of 2021 graduates who, despite the difficulties presented to them throughout the coronavirus pandemic, have excelled and achieved their ambitions. Among them are our high-achieving Undergraduate Scholars.

Supported by alumni and friends, the Undergraduate Scholarships have provided crucial support for students helping to ease financial constraints and enable them to continue their studies.

We caught up with some of our graduating scholars to hear about the impact of receiving this scholarship and how it has made a huge difference to their university experiences.

Lauren Kaye (Medicine 2021) spoke to us about how the scholarship made a difference to her studies as a medical student:

“This scholarship has enabled me to afford to travel to my hospital placements to improve my knowledge of how the NHS works across different Trusts. In addition to this, I have been able to purchase medical equipment to aid my studies including a stethoscope and tendon hammer.

Scholarships like this are important as they enable less fortunate students to have the same university experience as other students. It allows students to be able to purchase valuable textbooks to enhance learning and achieve highly on their courses.

Thank you so much to those who have supported the scholarship fund, for helping me to achieve my goal of graduating as a doctor from the University of Liverpool.”

We also caught up with another graduate from the School of Medicine, who shared their story:

“Without this scholarship I would not have been able to afford things I needed, as this support has helped when my laptop broke and when I needed textbooks for my course.”

Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. Your donations have made such a massive impact on me and have really made my university experience unforgettable. I’ve just started my first job as a doctor and I hope to become a GP in the future.”

On behalf of all of our Undergraduate Scholars and all at the University of Liverpool, we thank our donors for generously supporting our undergraduates who need it most.
