Civic Design Success in Global Eco-Innovations
Three Innovation Fellows

Three Innovation Fellows have been funded in Civic Design to support university-business collaborations in the area of Eco-Innovation. The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation (CGE) is a collaboration with the University of Lancaster and Inventya Ltd. funded by the European Regional Development Fund. In all, 50 Innovation Fellows will be in place across the two university partners by October 2012. A further 285 smaller-scale collaborations (PGT/UG placements) will also be funded and facilitated through a regional business mentoring programme delivered by Inventya Ltd. on the Daresbury Science Campus.

CGEs over-arching aim is to combat climate change and deliver sustainable consumption and production by developing new products, services and markets that focus on greenhouse gas emissions targets, natural resource and
energy efficiency, waste minimisation and re-use. Each Fellow will be funded for 3 years. They will work in partnership with a local or regional SME (based in Merseyside or the NW region) and will be registered with the university to qualify for the award of a higher degree.

The university is currently seeking applications from enthusiastic graduates or students who will graduate this summer, who have an interest in developing their skills and expertise in the area of business research and development within the environmental sector.
