Liverpool has offered Geography honours since 1917-18, with the UK’s first named Professor in Geography (the John Rankin Chair). Our students are taught in award-winning facilities by the people shaping the geographical debates of the 21st century.
Civic Design was the world’s first Planning School (founded 1909). A global centre of excellence in accredited professional planning education and research, our graduates are in senior positions all over the world. The team plays a pivotal role addressing societal challenges.
Environmental science at Liverpool draws on our interdisciplinary excellence. We draw together expertise in physical and biological sciences forming an integrated approach to tackle both natural - and human-induced problems, e.g. climate change.
We have an established reputation for research excellence, ranked 14th for research power and with 36% of our publications rated as world-leading (4*) (REF2021).

Our Masters taught programmes prepare individuals for the workplace tackling the global challenges facing our society. You can choose from Planning and Environmental assessment and Management degrees or Geography and Environmental science degrees.
