Functional labour market areas
Administrative areas are arbitrary and usually inappropriate as geographical framework to measure and monitor spatial patterns of socio-economic and labour market activity. Functional Labour Market Areas (FLMAs) provide a more comprehensive and meaningful analytical structure to guide spatially-explicit employment policy development. This project seeks to develop FMLAs by applying innovative computational methods based on census data and satellite imagery.
