The Geographic Data Science Lab joins the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe

The Geographic Data Science Lab, based at the University’s School of Environmental Sciences, has become a member of the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe (AGILE). This marks a significant milestone in the GDSL’s commitment to advancing research and innovation in collaboration with other leading institutions in Europe. This partnership is expected to provide the GDSL members with new opportunities for exchange of ideas and training in the field of GIS.

AGILE consists of over 80 members including European academic institutions, industry partners and the AGILE council. As well as an annual conference, AGILE organises a PhD school, aimed at providing PhD students across Europe with a platform to learn about core research skills, discuss leading topics in GIS, hear about experiences and expectations around supervision and start new collaborations with other PhD students. Furthermore, the association funds initiatives that seek to increase the level of AGILE member activity, such as starting new collaborations between member institutions or researchers.
