Bertie and Bella's coming soon
The refurbishment of the Vine Court food outlet - scheduled for completion by mid-June - will see a complete reimagining of the existing facility, changing it from a canteen operation to a new restaurant and café space. There will also be a new name - Bertie & Bella's - chosen by the Catering Team, who wanted something to reflect Liverpool’s romanticism and individuality. Bertie & Bella are names of the two mythical Liver Birds, keeping a watchful eye over the city from the top of the Royal Liver Building.
A total of 160 covers will be provided in the restaurant and café located either side of a new porchway entrance; and Bertie and Bella’s will offer an informal dining experience, complementing the more relaxed Courtyard and the formality of the VG&M restaurant.
The menu will comprise fusion brunches and main meals in the informal dining area, alongside coffee and cakes in the café. Head Chef Chris Murphy is keeping some of the food offer a secret for the time being, but is happy to share that we will sample: Eastern Delights, Choice from the Grill, Global Burgers, Wings your Way and Poke Grain Bowls.
