CIBC International Student Pay
We have partnered with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) so that you can pay your tuition fees and accommodation costs via an easy-to-use, secure online portal.
Using International Student Pay means you can make payments in your preferred currency, using a range of different payment methods, and benefit from a competitive exchange rate.
Who can use CIBC International Student Pay?
CIBC International Student Pay is able to receive payments from any international bank. It can be used for any payments made to the University from outside of the UK. If you're making a payment from within the UK, you'll need to use an alternative method of payment.
If you're making a payment from outside the UK, you can use CIBC International Student Pay for all services billed by the University, including tuition fee deposits, tuition fee payments and accommodation costs.
It's also possible from someone outside the UK , such as a parent or family member, to make a payment through CIBC International Student Pay on your behalf.
How do I make a payment?
Payments are made online at pay.cibc.com/liverpool.
Once you've selected your country from the dropdown list in the CIBC International Student Pay online portal and added the amount you want to pay in British pound sterling (GBP), the quote will display the amount due in your local currency.
CIBC International Student Pay offers access to over 120 different currencies. If your currency is not available, you'll be able to complete your transactions via a major currency, such as GBP, EUR, USD, CAD or a range of alternatives.
You'll need to include your University of Liverpool student ID number for every transaction made via the portal. This will ensure that your payment is easily identified and quickly posted to your student account.
What exchange rate will I receive?
Foreign exchange rates are continuously changing. To protect you from this volatility, the exchange rate you're offered through CIBC International Student Pay will be fixed for 72 hours once you begin their payment process for bank wires. This time frame does not include weekends or Canadian holidays.
If you have the option to pay through CIBC International Student Pay using your home currency, we recommend doing so where possible to ensure you receive the best exchange rate.
How will I know my payment has been processed?
Once your payment has made, you should receive email confirmation of this, then ongoing status updates until your payment is complete.
On average, payments made via the portal will be deposited in the University's bank account within two to five working days. If a transaction takes longer than this, please email studenthelp@cibc.com.
