Lily-Ella is a Marketing student.

"I grew up in a small town on the coast in Kent. Liverpool is far away from my hometown, so coming to study and live here has pushed me to step out of my comfort zone. It was hard at first, but now I feel like Liverpool has been made into my new home. Choosing Liverpool was the correct choice for me.

During my childhood, my parents divorced, which was a challenging experience that taught me the importance of adaptability, communication and finding strength in difficult circumstances.  My mum is the biggest inspiration to me. Her strength and knowledge have pushed me to be the person I am today, and I will be forever grateful. Nobody in my family had ever been to university before, so I was worried coming into the experience, but I know that this has been the right decision for me.

Whilst being at secondary school, I was interested in taking the career path of musical theatre. I worked hard in that field but ultimately decided that it was not the right decision for me and I am more passionate about social media campaigns and advertisement. This ultimately led to me studying marketing, which I have fallen in love with.

I was not just drawn to the University of Liverpool because of the strong academic reputation, but also because of the inclusive and supportive environment here, which felt like the right place for me to thrive both academically and personally. The city is wonderful and there is so much room for my personal growth and development here.
