We begin this discussion with contributions from special guests of the University:
Ahmad Al Rashid, a Syrian refugee, filmmaker and researcher who has contributed to the BBC series The Exodus.
Pippa Tagart, a volunteer for the medical charity Médecins du Monde (Doctors of the World) who has twice been stationed to Greece to assist refugees arriving into Europe.
Kester Ratcliff, Human rights activist and volunteer campaigning on refugee issues and responding to refugee emergencies.
We conclude with a Question and Answer session involving the guest speakers and Liverpool academics Dr Arshad Isakjee and Dr Kathy Burrell. The audience-led discussion will further explore the crisis, its politics, the implications for health and wellbeing of refugees, and potential humanitarian and political solutions.
