Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

Developing communications strategy for NGOs.

Melanie runs BBC Media Action's Insight blog, which aims to inform policy, research and practice on the role of media in improving governance and rights, health, resilience and humanitarian response. Melanie’s background is in think tank communications, having previously worked for the Overseas Development Institute and Africa Research Institute. Melanie has also worked for Dods, a political information company and media platform open Democracy. She has a First Class undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh and completed a Study Year Abroad at the University of California, Berkeley.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions following the talk. Refreshments will be provided.

This talk is part of a new public seminar series running alongside the MSc Strategic Communication programme. Running in November and December, the free seminars will take place at the University of Liverpool’s London campus. With diverse sectors and specialisms, each of the speakers will give an insight into the practice of strategic communication.
